The Checkerboard Cookies
Checkerboard Cookies ! Adapted from Youtube. Try it out and this is my 1st attempt. Taste is very yummy and rich in flavour.
Here's the recipe,

260 gm flour
150 gm butter
110 sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg yolk
vanilla essence
1 big tbsp cocoa powder
Method for Dough A :-
1) Beat up butter and sugar till light n fluffy. Add egg beat and vanilla essence.
2) Sieve flour n salt into it knead into a dough. Wrap with cling film and put in the fridge for 1 hour.
Method for Dough B :-
1) All the same from (1) to (2)2) Sieve the flour, cocoa powder and salt into the mixture, knead into a dough.
3) Wrap up and put in the fridge for 1 hour also.
Rolling and stripping method :-
1) After 1 hour, take out from the fridge, roll out to 1/4 " thick.
2) Do the same thing to Dough B.
3) Using ruler, cut out even strips,arrange on a plastic, plain, cocoa,plain. Egg wash every join.
4) Repeat till all strips pile up.
5) Wrap up the whole bar, put in the fridge again for 1 hour again till harden.
6) After 1 hour, take out and cut about 2/3 cm thick slices.
7) Arrange on greased tray and bake for 11-15 mins till slightly brown.
8) Cool and store in air tight container.
