Fuzhou Lychee Pork Meatballs





Tasted this yummiest Fuzhou cuisine in a 5~star restaurant in Fuzhou, China, a few months ago. Finally prepared and cooked up this special cuisine for tonight's dinner, its a double thumbs up from all my beloved.







Here's the recipe,



Ingredients A :-
500 gm minced meat
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper powder
2 tbsp light soya sauce
1 tsp Five Spice Powder
2-3 drops of red coloring

 Cornflour for rubbing-in


For the lychee sauce / gravy :-
1 can of lychees (separate lychees & liquid)
2 tbsp chilly sauce
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
A few drops of red coloring (opt)
Cornstarch for thickening
Lettuce / cucumber for garnishing




 Method :-
1) Mix (A) to minced meat, mix well.
2) Rub in the cornflour and blend thoroughly.
3) Roll into balls by slapping and throwing into the palm of your hand.
4) Deep-fry the meatballs till cook.
5) Dish out, drain well and set aside.
6) Meanwhile, heat up a wok, pour in the lychee water, chilly sauce, red coloring and seasoning.
7) Simmer and taste it to your preference.
8) Pour in the lychee flesh and give it a stir then thicken the gravy / sauce with cornstarch.
9) Ready a platter, garnish with lettuce / cucumber, place the meatballs in the center.
10) Gradually pour the gravy all over the top of the meatballs.
11) Its now ready to be served while steaming hot.
