English Raisins Scones
Baking "English Raisins Scones" this weekend.What's better to serve this with not so sweet homemade strawberry jam and cream. Craving for scones for quite sometime already but I think I still need some improvement baking fluffy scones. Don't you think so ? Lol.
Here's the recipe,
Ingredients:-
310 gm self-raising flour
200 ml Low fat milk
1 tsp vanilla essence
200 gm raisins
70 gm castor sugar
A pinch of salt
100 gm butter
Method :-
1) Sift self-raising flour into a mixing bowl.
2) Mix vanilla essence to the milk- mix well.
3) Pour the sugar, salt, butter and using your fingertips, break into very fine breadcrumbs.
4) Make a well in the center, pour the milk mixture and blend until it becomes a mass dough. (Do not overmix).
5) Floured table-top, turn the wet dough out. Shape the dough into a round dough.
6) Use a rolling pin, lightly roll out to 2 cm thick.
7) Finally use a 5 cm pastry cutter and cut out the scones.
8) Placed on tray, egg wash/milk the top of scones.
9) Bake in a preheated oven at about 175-185C for 15-20 mins.
10) When it's done, serve hot with strawberry jam, butter or cream.
