Sweet Parmesan Cheese Bread







"Sweet Parmesan Cheese Bread"!
Consisting mainly of grated parmesan cheese and drizzle of fine sugar on the surface.

Note: Once you've learned the basics of making bread you can go ahead and concoct ur own recipes, fillings and shapes.









Here's the recipe ;



Ingredients:-
400 gm bread flour
100 gm cake flour
130 gm sugar
70 gm butter
1 egg
2-3 tbsp milk powder +
300 gm lukewarm water
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp bread improver
grated parmesan cheese
some blended sugar ( for drizzling)
1 1/2 tbsp instant active yeast


Method :-
1) Mix all the ingredients in a mixer bowl except butter. Knead for 5 mins, add in the butter and knead another 10 mins till smooth & elastic.
2) Scrap out the dough onto a floured surface, let it rest for 15 mins.
3) Divide the dough into 2 portions and cut each portion into 3 equal parts. Roll out each portion into thin strips.
4) Now, take 3 strips and start plaiting the strips. Tuck in the ends. repeat the same to the rest of the dough.
5) Place the plaited loaves closed together on a greased pan. Let it proof for 1 hour till double in size.
6) Brush beaten egg and sprinkle Parmesan cheese and sugar generously over the plaited loaves.
7) Bake at 173' for 20 mins till golden brown.

  1. Hi, Beautiful bread! A few questions. When you use milk powder is it 'skim milk' powder (that is the only type I see on the store shelf)? Since cake flour has less protein/gluten than bread flour, what does the cake flour accomplish? Thank you for taking my questions.

  2. Hi, Sandy, sorry for the late reply.You can use skim milk powder or the cold fresh milk that we consume for breakfast. Cake flour is a fine soft silky flour and it helps in giving a finer & softer crumb. If you don't have cakeflour, AP flour will do just fine.
