Stir-fry dried chilly squid



Back to my kitchen with basic cooking for the table. Bought some fresh squids (sotong) this morning from market, was thinking what to cook.

So, come up with this simple and yet very tasty dish,
" Stir-fry dried chilly squid " !







Here's the recipe,

Ingredients :-
2 big squids ( cut to pieces )
4-5 dried chillies (soaked & drained)
1 big onion
5-6 pieces of Bentong ginger
1 tbsp bbq sauce/char siew sauce
1 tbsp black caramel sauce
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt & pepper powder
some cornstarch for thickening
some chopped small onions & garlic
some salt for seasoning the squid pieces

Method :-
1) Rub some salt over the squid and rub in thoroughly, set aside.
2) Heat up a wok, pour some oil into it, saute the ginger, big onion, chopped small onions and garlic till aromatic.
3) Then stir in the dry chillies and continue stirring for at 5 mins.
4) Pour in the squids, fry a little while then add in all the sauces and seasonings. Stir to incorporate thoroughly.
5) Thicken the mixture with the cornstarch and scoop up onto a platter to serve.
6) Serve hot with white rice.
